On behalf of the idroid dev team, I am proud to announce the release of iDroid v1.0 MoJo.
This release is presently for 2G & 3G.
IPT1G now released! What is this? This is the iDroid Project's first official release of Android Froyo for iDevices, built from the community source code repos at
http://www.github.com/iDroid-ProjectWe decided to release our own official version because of the fragmentation of releases and user confusion, this has made bug tracking and dev progress difficult, this release hopes to counter that.
Why v1.0 seeing as its alpha? Some people have asked why we have opted to use v1.0 even though this is not considered a stable release, the ONLY reason we did this, was so not to confuse people by using similar numbers to planetbeings original releases of donut.
Kernel NoteThe 2G kernel is adb over USB, wheras the 3G version is adb over WiFi, this was an oversight (Just used alex's config without checking it) which will be rectified in the next release, I can also provide a 2G kernel without the usb gadget enabled if that is of any help.
IPT1G release is adb over WiFi also.
Whats new in this release?More concise changes can be taken from the commit logs at our github repos, here are some of them:
Pre-rooted
ultrasn0w is now implemented in the ril library in android, so everyone should have carrier unlock.
SD Emulation now complete for Froyo - without market issues. (/private/var/sdcard)
WiFi on boot (once configured)
Accelerometer driver android side fixed, no longer gets stuck after lockscreen
DTMF Tones
How do I install this?At present you will have to do it manually, detailed instructions are included within the release, see the INSTALL file in the archive.
Release cycleMinor releases will be put out whenever progress is made, I cannot give you timescales because I simply do not know - as soon as there is something that needs to be added, a minor release will be put out with the changes in it.
Why MoJo?I don't know, ask Bluerise
Known IssuesLoopback devices are presently not cleanly unmounted (as has been the case since day 1), as a result an integrity check is forced at startup slowing down boot time a little.
Lack of PMU - we still have no power management, this is being worked on and will appear in a later release as soon as it is ready.
Reporting Issues/Requesting FeaturesWe have a development tracker system set up to take bug reports and feature requests which you can find at:
http://dev.idroidproject.org - please take the time to report any issues you find there.
DownloadsDONT FORGET TO REPORT YOUR BUGS/ISSUES ON OUR ISSUE TRACKER - WE CANNOT FIX PROBLEMS WE DONT KNOW ABOUT!
Releases for all platforms are available for download now at: http://idroid.nickpack.com/iDroid/offic ... d-Project/
2G Users will want the 1.0.1 version as this fixes an issue with 2G sound.
