Is it possible to install 3rd party Applications on iPhone

Dear iDroid Forum,
I'm very new at this area. I wont to install some application like blender or gimp on iPhone. Google search doesn't match my question :-(
Is it possible with iDroid?
Do I have to take an other way?

Do you want to install to iOS or Android?

Well in Android, as long as you have the apk file, it will work but only in Android. Also, depending on the 3rd party app you are installing, it might not work on iDroid.

If you want to install a 3rd party app on iOS, I think there are a lot of tutorials on using other apps from Cydia to do that.

You do realise what you are asking right? machines with 3 times the spec of the iPhone 3G struggle to render stuff in blender, and tbh I dont think GIMP would be particularly usable in 320 x 240 either

My idea is to bring tools like blender or gimp on iPhone.
It doesn't matter for me which OS it need(i don't know it).
Does the Android build support native linux applications?
Does Cydia support all debian apps?

you are right! But i thing on old builds from this software. Maybe blender 1.0...
Its just my holiday project

Android doesn't support linux apps that you can run on a gentoo,ubuntu,fedora,...
And in theory cydia does support any .deb file, however it apps in side won't run.

although you can copy lets say the firefox binaries and library from your ubuntu to your idroid/ios,...
they won't run. The architecture is different. Your firefox binaries will most likely be i368 (or variants there of like i686) or x86_64. The architecture of the iDevice is different, It's the ARM architecture.

It's more of a hardware issue than a OS one. This is also why you'll never see Windows XP (native) run on an iDevice.

Notice the native, I can use firefox on my iPad, heck I can use Windows 7 or Windows 2008 R2 Server over my Citrix XenApp server. It's not the same. You unplug the internet connection and it's gone. The OS/Application are running on a server, your ipad is just the input (touch screen + on screen keyboard) and output (display).

It's not the same as having windows run on the hardware in the iDevice.

Geeky note: I can run NX Client for Windows over Citrix XenApp and connect to a ubuntu desktop over NX and use ubuntu... as long as I'm on the wireless network at home, trust me it's not THAT great.

Qemu may cross-compile but I didn't try. Performance would be horrible too.
I did read something about bochs but never played with it.

I may actually give that a whirl later tonight but I'm not expecting much from it performance wise.

Edit: Bochs sort of works, but only at iphone resolution. And it's pretty slow, to the point it's not usable.

I tried it on my iPad, wasn't very responsive. Not that I was expecting it too.
But could be awesome for some DOS games
