what about the new bootrom exploit? it is supposed to work on every device, so it should be what idroid developers were waiting for, isn't it?
I really hope to be able to try Android...and maybe on a 4G :)
Check here viewtopic.php?f=24&t=1323, apparently when bluerise asked Pod2G, he said oib could not be installed on a device that is exploited with this hole. although it may develop further seeing as it is labeled as a bootrom exploit on their own wiki, we'll have to see when the exploit leads to a jailbreak what it can and cannot do.

Is there a list of Devs that are currently working on iPhone 3gs (new or Old bootrom) out in the wild somewhere so I could donate money to them specifically once they get it ported over?

I've been really wanting Android on my iPhone I'm almost at the point of trading my iPhone for an Android device (which I don't want to do).

MC models can't get jailbroken with Limera1n at the moment.

Someone else should explain this further but from what I understand Limera1n isn't the type of bootrom exploit that we can use for OIB. The best it can do is allow tethered boot of OIB.

Limera1n can jailbreak all iPhone 3GS (new bootrom support is just broken at the moment). It can definitely be used by us to boot OiB, but like ddominator said, it will be a tethered boot. But hey, tethered boot is better than nothing, and if we get far in the development process, someone will surely come along and find us a hole to use for untethering it, if not, I'll just enjoy it on my untethered old bootrom 3GS ;)

It's not as simple as 'giving it a try'. The ipt2G port has been going on for 4 months now and it isn't half done. Be patient.
