OK, here is short brief if somebody want to build it on it own:

Step #1->clone repository:
Code: [Select]
git clone https://github.com/fergy/B2G-1.git
Step #2->cd into cloned repo folder:
Code: [Select]
cd B2G-1
Step #3->configure build for device:
Code: [Select]
./config.sh ipt1Gor
Code: [Select]
./config.sh iphone3G
NOTE: if You enter just ./config.sh, that will give You device names. In this moment only iphone3G and ipt1G can be builded

Step #4->Get an book and cup of coffee as first pull will take some longer time (depend of Your internet speed)

Step #5->Build B2G
Code: [Select]
./build.sh
NOTE: depend of Your system speed, this step can vary. For example, on an Acer B1 dual core processor it take:
Quote
real   102m5.133s
user   148m7.880s
sys   10m30.476s

Step #6->Copy files to device
* by default all files are placed under B2G-1/out/target/product/ipXXX
* files what You need are following: boot.img, kernel, ramdisk.img, system.img and userdata.img
* for now, openiBoot is 'AS IS' so it will look for files under idroid folder on Your device (same place where original idroid was placed)
* kernel file is just zImage, so You can rename it back to zImage before or after....or just copy Your own zImage from Linux kernel
* ramdisk.img also must be gzip-ed until I change kernel, as by default it will search for compressed ramdisk image

Step #7->Reboot device
* choose idroid from openIboot and enjoy in B2G  :P

If you could try to fix it up for the iPod as much as you think you need to then compile and send it to me, that would be much appreciated because I currently do not have a Linux workspace. I only have windows. Thanks in advance.

OK. I'll probably make it by Sunday evening.
PS, why You don't use virtualbox or something for Linux if don't have (or don't want to use) place for Linux?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but I think you mean that you have already started porting it and you are looking for my help. To answer your question no, I have not started porting B2G to the iPod Touch. I might start next weekend.

I mean following: I have ported it to iphone 3G already . Cannot test on ipod as don't have it, so I can provide (in this situation) help for B2G patch code if You will need it.
Let Me know if You need anything.
Cheers

OK, to not just typing here... Here is link: https://github.com/fergy/android-device-ipt1G.git so please be free to get it and add contents of android-device-ipt1G into Your B2G/device/apple/ipt1G folder. Note that You must to make both new folders under /device (apple and inside ipt1G, so path look like: YOUR_WORKING_FOLDER/B2G/device/apple/ipt1G and than copy contents inside ipt1G).
Also feel free to change parameters for device as I don't have an ipt to test if it work at all.
For Kernel, if You don't have own one (You can use kernel from iDroid for this) let Me know and I'll make one for You.
PS, You need to put kernel inside ipt1G folder too (or rework script, so it not use this one).
Good luck

Ever since I read about Mozilla's Firefox OS(B2G), I became interested in porting it. I am glad that I am not the only one who had the same idea.

Heya!!! I have some progress in porting B2G to 3G (I know it is old man, but is ideal for that job) so, You have some progress too?

Do You want Me to port for You iPod device for build B2G?
Just let Me know and I will provide sources.
Cheers

I actually had the same issue. One of the Githubs (OIBDev) has the tools required located in the release folder. I used the iPod itself to git the repo then I transferred the files via iFunBox. Hope I helped!

General discussion / Re: iDroid, Project iX, iOS, and PSFreedom
« on: March 17, 2013, 08:53:54 PM »
I have recently joined the iDroid community and I am sad to say I am already dissapointed at how an awesome project like this could just be flushed down the drain due to lack of supergeniuses (or those people having no time).  I believe that this project should be revived. To start, I can make simple, basic android apps to package into iDroid like Notes and Credits. What would be nice is an iOS app that is able to remove the files from /var/idroid and replace them with files from certain directories (e.g. /var/idroid/ix, /var/idroid/psfreedom, /var/idroid/android) to allow easy switching between which OS actually boots next time you click the "Android" button in openiboot. I can also assist in making "deb" files or "bat" scripts for windows users. Thank you for devoting your time to reading this.

Hi.
Great that someone else is moved forward with something. To be honest, project is not dead but (as Admin's say) hibernating...
To short problem, as You see from Our wiki, someone have private problems/jobs/school... whatever reason to leave project.
Few of Us are here and there here and check if someone was post anything and someone reply to posts....
To remove files from /var/idroid, You must to rework openiBoot loader. I can do that without problem, but tell Me an reason why You want to do that, because, idroid main path is /var/idroid, so don't see a reason to make changes in iboot just because "it would be nice to see an app  that is able to remove the files from...." Also, that app would be powered by Bootlace (probably) as I don't see any other app or maybe new app which will do such thing.
OpeniBoot is pretty well open platform and You can add whatever You want (with script) to boot from (even windows if You have port of it  ;D)

I can't seem to get openiboot to download from bootlace. I'm using an ipod touch 1g and already have idroid downloaded onto it. I get the "can not get software from appl" message. I also cant get the files off the website, it gives me a 403 error. I was wondering if anyone knew where i could get the files or help fix the problem with the 403 error. thanks in advance!

"can not get software from appl" mean that bootlace cannot get software from Apple, not from our server.
I was test Yesterday with iphone 3G and everything is OK.
Did' You check our wiki for manual installation?

ok!thanks,I have got an iphone5,I’d like to see it runs android。。。
sorry,my English is not very good,I've been concerned about this project!

Well, it will take a while as I don't have an iP5 but everything else from 2-4s, so at the moment here is short brief:

* openiBoot is in test phaze as My friend do all hard work on My blind porting (that's defo most important stage)
* Linux Kernel make booting but also friend do test for Me
* around 40% Kernel drivers are ported
* Android part of drivers in 'starting' stage

So, I will update this thread as make progress but please, don't ask for ETA as I don't have a time to work 0/24 on this, don't have device, so must wait for friend's free time to make tests and also, work atm alone on this, so... You understand everything.
Hope this is enough information for now.
Cheers

3GS port does not have a working FTL layer.

Not yet fully, but testing purpose yup. Also, not public yet as not work well. More testing needed.
