Release: iX - Ubuntu for the Apple iPhone 3g, dev. image

I'd like to introduce iX, a port of the Ubuntu operating system to the Apple iPhone 3G (Working on 2G now). At the moment this is only a very rough and basic development image and is in no way intended for use as even a secondary OS for the iPhone but I'm making it available for those who want to give a try or even help develop iX. I haven't installed this or anything but good job man. Also if you get speaker support for an iPod do power management and have skype capabilities than I could see itouch using this real fast

I installed the iX and i think that will do, but i have a question: i want to boot the ix without pc so how can i do this? i would like to choose iX in the openiboot.

Simply replace the android images and kernel with the ones from iX.

for example: rename initrd.img.gz -> android.img.gz
                                  ix.img           -> system.img or cache.img

Please write a tutorial, because i dont know.

So if you want boot ix from the openiboot menu: copy the initrd.img.gz (the firmware inside) and zImage file to /private/var/idroid folder, and rename initrd.img.gz to android.img.gz . Last copy the ix.img to private/var folder
