How about a topic for discussing the current project? First post could be a constant work in progress, summarizing the official state of the project and the second (same thread) could be a detailed how-to that can't be updated/altered except by a moderator, then close and sticky the thread. The wiki could point to these two posts. I think it's important to provide this information somewhere that is controlled and allowing input and discussion following on in different threads.
