Iphone 3g 4.2.1 Bootlace. Apple OS bricked!! P
« on: March 11, 2011, 05:43:40 AM »
Hi. I have a iphone 3g 4.2.1 jailbroken with redsnow b5. I have had syncing problems with my iphone, so i tried deleting stuff on Cydia. Well now I can't go back on my apple OS it just keeps on the apple logo and then suddenly goes back to the OS selection screen. I probably did something stupid, but now when i get my idevice in recovery mode my computer does not even give notice to it. I have tried different wires, and different computers but nothing works. So, right now I'm stuck using Android and if anyone can help please help!! :'(

Can you put it in DFU mode?

Also as this is not a problem of Bootlace and/or iDroid (deletion of files in iOS caused the problem), I'm moving it to General Discussion.

Well man, this usually means disk0s1 is corrrrupt, which means you're trying to boot into NOTHING. Try using a computer, MAKING sure iTunes helper is ON, then put it in DFU mode.

To put in DFU it needs to be connected before pressing butttons. :)
Meh. You wouldn't care.

DFU mode will always work. If you can't get into it you're doing something wrong. Follow the guides on Youtube and remember if it works you will see nothing on the screen, just black.

Even if I put it into DFU mode I cannot connect to windows/ubuntu/mac computers. I have no idea why. Before I messed up my iphone it was having usb connection problems. Thats why I tried to delete stuff in Cydia. Also, if anyone asks I can not openssh unless you can do it in Android.

Entering DFU is still possible in that instance as the iPhone is powered off the USB bus.

Ever gotten 1604 errors on iTunes before? buy a -new!- USB cord, and try DFU with that.

Well here something that just happened last night, my phone now wont hold a charge. Android is now completly useless because all the apps are now broken.

I have problems with he USB cord sometimes but o bought a new one and it worked great. by what I've been told android on apple devices takes alot of battery and if you aren't charging to 100% everytime then it could be losing battery quickly. DFU always works like they have said hold down power button for 2 second then power and home for 10 secs then let go of power button but still hold in home button for 8-10 secs. This has to be done while it's plugged into a computer.

It's because they don't have full power managment yet on iDroid
