help me get idroid running!
« on: July 25, 2011, 10:29:18 AM »
Hi,
I have been pulling my hair out over this for the past 2 days.
I have tried manual install and installing via bootlace, I have tried restoring the iphone and re jailbreaking before trying each method but still no luck.
Basically, I turn on the iphone and it comes up with the menu to select ios, console or idroid, If i select ios it works perfectly but If i select idroid it takes AGES loading and eventually comes up with the openiboot ascii banner and just sits there doing nothing, if i unplug the usb cable or plug it in it recognises that and comes up with some lines of text relating to the usb being plugged in / unplugged but won't do anything else.  The main part that always seems to take a long time loading is the bits with " ftl: " at the start if thats any help?

The answer to this is in the FAQ. If you read that after installing you wouldn't have been pulling your hair.

For your convenience here's the answer (first question answered in Booting into iDroid) http://www.idroidproject.org/wiki/FAQ#Booting_into_iDroid

Just make sure you have the idroid files in the idroid folder and have the firmware in the firmware folder. The bootlace server is having trouble so it may not be working.  If Bootlace cannot complete installing the idroid files and firmware, please refer to the Installation Guide on the wiki for how to manually do it.

Please read the User Manual and FAQ (links in my sig).

I have read the FAQ, the files are all where they should be. I'll try and download the files again manually and copy them over incase the ones i downloaded are corrupt somehow.
Thanks for your reply.
