[SOLVED] OpeniBoot boots into console.
« on: November 09, 2010, 07:26:15 PM »
My OpeniBoot boots directly into console and I can't use the setenv command because I can't get oibc to connect. If I'm fast it connects but starts doing something involving 'ftl' and it disconnects. This ftl thing takes a long time to finish and when its done I can no longer connect. :/
I cant go into recovery mode to setenv either. Nor can I do anything about the ftl... How can I fix this. I would rather not have to dfu restore if possible.

Sigh iPhodroid... you never fail to disappoint us.

Anyways, before entering the sudo ./oibc command, wait for all the FTL messages to finish until there is no more new output on the iPhone's screen. Then enter sudo ./oibc

You really don't need to go into DFU to solve this.

I tried that already. It either doesn't connect at all or connects but doesn't let me enter anything. (like printenv or setenv)  :-\

Virtual Box for Windows?

Have you read http://www.idroidproject.org/wiki/VirtualBox?

Read the whole guide first before doing anything, then start at number 16 (OpeniBoot Console Mode).

I did read that and did what it said. Please don't think I'm stupid  :'( I always read all available information before trying anything. Anything else I can try? I'll try another linux distro.

Sorry no offense meant. Just checking to make sure your problem with connection was not because virtualbox was not configured properly.

Try connecting then entering command reboot...

Hard reset will always give the FTL errors.

Maybe a log of what is displayed when you enter the command "sudo ./oibc" in terminal will be helpful.

I can't enter reboot or anything at all. I'll give you the console log tomorrow. I'm tired now.

Here's the console log: http://pastebin.com/GLg0KRhL
As you can see I managed to do setenv using Linux Mint  ;)
BUT after I type reboot it STILL boots into console and the env stars true even if I change it to false  :o

Edit: Sorry for double post, forgot to edit.

Edit2: SOLVED!! The FAQ in the Wiki forgot to mention 'saveenv'. >:( And I didn't type it until my linux instincts kicked in  8)

No saveenv in wiki... Oh ok ... let me edit it...

I'll fix this as solved.
