just a big mess..
« on: December 07, 2010, 07:56:34 PM »
first of all guys, i want to let you know that ive looked! ive looked on youtube, in google and in this forum. Couldnt find anything. Im sorry if I missed something, but ive been looking VERY hard!!
also, im kind of a newbie. know a little about computers but not much about scripting.

I have openiboot 0.1.3 installed and idroid on iphone 3g. I did it with bootlace. I jailbroke my iphone with blackra1n (uses blacksnow right?). I tried to get phone sim card for it, and it said something like "invalid sim". Very unsmart like, i selected "reset network settings in iphone". it restarted, now its stuck on apple logo. I would LOVE to get into DFU mode, but when i power off my phone, and than hold power and home for 10 seconds, it just starts the openiboot screen with ios, console and idroid option and it scrolls really fast and 1 sec later it selects console and goes right into it. So im having tough time with that.
I also tried to sudo ./oibc from mac when phone is in console, however , i get "sudo: ./oibc: command not found!(i ddi wait for the welcome message too).
my thing is i want to transfer some pics from phone to computer that are VERY important to me. I found a program that can restore me to iphone, but it has to be in dfu mode first. So either that way or ssh into it through openiboot console, IF i can get into it.
guys, please help me
i would be forever gratefull!
thanks in advance
alex

Uhm all you want is how to get to DFU right?

http://www.idroidproject.org/wiki/DFU

Just do the instructions there. Ignore OpeniBoot.

darn it :(
thats the thing, when my phone is powered off, and i hold the home button and power button, after 2 seconds it goes into openiboot menu, 1 second later it selects the console(cause power button is scroll and home button is select for openiboot), than it just starts loading console. Maybe im missing something...
thank you for quick reply, will be here waiting :)

You have to hold it. Just continue holding it. If it goes into console mode, iOS, or Android, it will not matter.

DFU is built into the hardware.  Whatever OS you use (or lack of it), DFU will always kick-in if correctly executed.

ok ok, when it says "if the restore logo is present on the screen" in wiki, its talking about iphone screen? or itunes screen. cause itunes pops up recovery mode window, but ive read somewhere that it will do that if your in dfu mode anyways..
thanks :)

DFU mode will be in black screen but iTunes will say that device is in recovery mode (DFU).

Hmm about your important pics, have you synced them to iTunes? If so you try a normal restore first...

Hopefully if you have made a backup your pics will still be there. Otherwise there is a good chance pics will be deleted.

I have this same problem, but can't "turn my phone off".  I really screwed things up, and I can't boot into ANY operating system or the console.  I can't "Turn Off" my phone because I get stuck on all three boot screens.  How can I enter recovery mode or DFU mode?  I tried holding power and home even after it started booting into the console (I had the same problem of Iboot coming up), but it still didn't enter recovery mode.

Ok try this to get into normal recovery mode.
1. Hard reset by holding home and power for 10 seconds. (screen becomes black).
2. Hold the Home button.
3. Plug in the USB connection, while you are still holding Home button.
4. OpeniBoot menu with 3 boot screen appears. Continue holding Home button.
5. It should boot into iOS, and if you are still holding the Home button, the normal Recovery screen appears.

DFU has nothing on the screen (just black) but it will be detected by iTunes if done correctly.
