question about gracefully exiting console if iphone not usb connected to comp

I see that I can get the openiboot tools from mac os x from here

to run sudo ./oibc from my mac to connect to the openiboot console running on my iphone 3g:

Sometimes, however, I find myself starting the Console by mistake instead of Android when the phone isn't connected by usb to my computer. Since Android hasn't started yet, would it be safe to force quit the phone to power it off or is there another way from the phone to end the console session and get back to the os selection screen?

If you were connected to usb, the console oibc command would have been shutdown or reboot.

But since you are not connected to one and probably cannot connect to one, only hard reset is the option. Sorry
