iOS Not loading
« on: November 22, 2010, 07:22:29 PM »
Hello,

I ahve had openibbot installed for a while now. While listening to music the other day in the iOS, it just stopped playing. I thought it was just a song with an intro, but when I looked at my iPod it was at the openiboot screen as if it restarted the device. I proceeded to load the iOS. A white screen flashes then I get the apple logo and then my iPod just shuts off. I have an iPod touch 1G at the bottom of the openiboot screen it says "openitboot 0.1 b54f1ad for iPod touch 1g" if that helps in determening what version I used. It has been a while since i did it so I do not remeber. If any one has any ideas on what the issue could be please let me know. Also I wanted to uninstall openiboot to see if that fixed the problem or atleast so I can restore my iPod, but when I try to run the ./oibc it says "unable to execute ./oibc: No such file or directory". I have unzipped the file to my Desktop and changed the terminal directory to the openiboot folder. I am running ubuntu 10.10 in VMware fusion on my MAC.

Thank you in advanced for the help.

Try using sudo ./oibc?

In any case, looks like iOS is f'ed up because it crashed and wouldn't load.  You still need to restore despite uninstalling OpeniBoot.

For DFU restore: http://www.idroidproject.org/wiki/DFU

You can do a normal recovery (if you don't want DFU), by holding the home button when you connect your turned off iPod via USB. OpeniBoot will appear but if you are holding Home, it will boot iOS but go into recovery mode.
