I've got a 32gb 3gs with original 3.0 on it bought on launch day. I'd love to help in any way that I can. I have some basic cpp skills and have been hacking the iphone since the hardware unlock.

I also have full intention on getting the new iphone next month so I can provide data there as well if need be.

I'm quite interesting about this project,

What should i do for this, and could you guys tell me anythings for the progress of this project?

I have a 3gs and new bootroom model, and studied about c , and java in the past.

I forked Anon0's fork of iphonelinux over on Github. He's a pretty cool guy. I know 3GS is currently impossible at the moment due to the bootloader, but I'll begin playing around and seeing what I can do. If any of you developers want to help out, let me know on Github.

Besides the new bootrom jailbreak coming for all devices, now with the cydia downloaded installer coming soon "flashing OpeniBoot from userland is coming soon. " so even without a bootrom exploit, you'll still be able to do it in userland.
My contracts running out soon, I want iDroid on an iPhone 4 too.
I know i know ..Take your damn time

Being able to install it from userland doesn't mean it will work without a bootrom exploit. In fact, the install will even fail if you don't have an untethered jailbreak. But hopefully the bootrom exploit recently found applies to iPhone 3GS as well, and hopefully it sparks some interest in porting to the device.

What you can do is send your device to someone who can start the port. I'm most likely (pending response on temporary phone solution) sending my old bootrom 3GS to Bluerise soon.

I actually have an old 3GS lying around... my friend found it on the ground while walking home one day. That being said, it's a bit broken (the vibrator function doesn't work, the backlight doesn't turn on, and the front glass is cracked) but everything else works perfectly. It's currently running iOS 4.0 with the old bootrom. Would it be of any use to one of the devs?

It would definitely be of use to one of the developers. Please try to get in touch with either ricky26 or Bluerise about how to get the device to one of them.
