I want to marry you.

No, seriously. You're one of a few people understanding what we're doing. Thanks!

I think everyone of us really would like to buy you a beer. :)

I actually have a proper solution, but my implementation sucks. It would be nice, if you would look at it. ;)

Just to clarify.

That's iFroyo 0.1.3 for 3G with two changes, so: All credits to dario!

I added a new ril (libril.apple.so) which will only unlock the new BaseBand shipped with iOS4. Also the init in android.img.gz doesn't copy the wildcard.plist because else the ril would use the wildcard unlock instead of UltraSn0w.
For the rest... well, I committed a sample implementation for a proper solution, but,... it's not working that correctly as I liked it to. Maybe someone is going to investigate that for me as I don't see my error atm.

Yeah that's the ticket :) how do I go about saving in gedit .. it is saying I don't have permission to save anywhere =/

Try "sudo gedit" instead of "gedit". :p

VIM is a editor... You can use nano, gedit,... Just open it with a editor and comment the lines I specified below. Don't execute these lines.

I don't have a Mac, sorry. :/ Can't even afford a new iDevice, as you can read in my signature...

Bluerise

Ah right thanks lol.. gedit says it cannot detect the character coding.. and nano opens the file but it is not readable it's just a lot of symbols =/ I'm not sure why sudo vim doesn't work =/

Oh, I'm sorry. My bad. iFroyo is using a different design. Use '/mnt/initDroid.sh' instead of '/mnt/init'.

Thought it was "quick" enough. ;O

I'm assuming you've got an open terminal/console and are in a directory with android.img.gz, system.img userdata.img and the new libril.apple.so in it. Also I'm assuming /mnt is a directory and you're using linux.

Code: [Select]
gunzip android.img.gz && sudo mount -o loop android.img /mnt && sudo vim /mnt/initDroid.sh
Then there are these lines:

Code: [Select]
/bin/cat /host/root/Library/Lockdown/activation_records/wildcard_record.plist > /android/data/wildcard_record.plist
/bin/chmod a+r /android/data/wildcard_record.plist

Put a "#" before each line, save it.

Code: [Select]
sudo umount /mnt && gzip android.img && sudo mount -o loop system.img /mnt && sudo cp libril.apple.so /mnt/lib/hw/ && sudo umount /mnt && sudo mount -o loop userdata.img /mnt && sudo rm /mnt/data/wildcard_record.plist && sudo umount /mnt
Hope this is the quick one, you want. :p

Hello!

For those who are trying to get service:

If you rely on ultrasn0w, make sure that there's no wildcard plist in /data and that it's not being copied automatically at boot.
In android.img.gz (ungzipped and mounted) there should be a "init".
In this init there's a "cat" executed to copy the wildcard plist to /data.
You need to remove those lines.

My current implementation (unfortunately not a proper one) only works for the BB released with iOS4.
This libril.apple.so is working for me. Place it into /lib/hw/ in the system.img.

PS: If you're using your official carrier and it's not working with the wildcard, try to use the ultrasn0w way.

I'm currently working on GPT Support in OpeniBoot, so you don't need to use these tools and it will work out-of-the-box.

And you think that's all you need to do? Just load the kernel driver and... that's all?

Sorry, but,.. No.

If you're interested in further information what you'll need to change, update, whatever. You'll find me on IRC.

Some are working on that, but you shouldn't expect anything soon.
