The iDroid install part of Bootlace will be down until some point tomorrow. If you grabbed the 1.0.5 release and it broke wait for a fix.

Got it?

Sound fix should have not done anything to it. It works perfectly fine on my device. Are you sure you have been rebooting correctly (not using hard reboot).
I am not pointing the sound fix is causing the problem, but the potential dangerous of the Android.
Sorry if that causing misunderstanding.

I used terminal on ubuntu to reboot the device via adb.

btw, I have recovered the phone without any problem.

iPhone 2G / Android kill the iPhoneOS
« on: May 01, 2010, 01:00:50 PM »
After doing the sound fix, and using reboot command.
The Android can't get pass the lock screen.
The screen turns black while the LCD still on, lock screen, back to black and you got it. Also the status bar is gone.
When I try to boot into the iPhoneOS.
the iPhone automatically shutdown during boot up.
I get into recovery mode now, hope everything will be alright.

It seems the android can do more damage to the iPhoneOS than I expect.

(Don't know if this is the right sector to post this)

I think it would be good if you open a topic for this in the Development sub-forum.

Everything is working fine and slow.
The biggest problem is, Contact won't sync with Google.
ContactProvider.apk should be deleted so that Contacts.apk (using the installer) will sync with google.  That's what I did and it worked.
Where is the installer?
Will it work if I just delete ContactsProvider.apk through ADB?

Also, calendar doesn't sync anymore after the first sync after setup. (It syncs in fact, but refresh once for a long while, doesn't have push)
In the G-mail app, despite it can receive e-mails, the total count at the top always display as zero.
Tried erase all, stay the same.
Anyone got similar problem?

iPhone 2G / File Damage after force shutdown?
« on: April 29, 2010, 05:22:15 PM »
As I know,
The only way to shutdown the Android,
is to force shutdown, or by reboot command through adb.

However after several force shutdowns.
The booting process of Android always end up in
"multitouch: couldn't get a-speed firmware, trying again...."
"iphone-multitouch iphone-multitouch: firmware: requesting zephyr_aspeed.bin"

Sometimes, I need to replace the android.img.gz and system.img. Sometime a complete reinstallation.

Is it my problem? Is that anyway to prevent it?

No luck, after replacing the system.img processed by installer.sh,
Only got a blackscreen with status bar and lots of error windows when I try to boot into the android.
After all the re-installation. I tried again. Got blackscreen with status bar + lots of errors again.
However, this time I only did a hard restart, everything is good now.
Proceed to next step now.

iPhone 2G / Re: About free space and update.

Well first it depends on how much you want your SD card to be (250, 500, 1000) in MB.

The total Android files (android.img.gz, userdata.img, cache.img, system.img, zImage, ramdisk.img) takes 326 MB.

So it's 326 + SD = How much free space you need.
Thanks for the info.
It seems I got to sacrifice some games.

iPhone 2G / About free space and update.
« on: April 28, 2010, 09:02:51 AM »
I tried to search for answer, but with no result.
Hope the following questions are not duplicated.

1. As the procedures require a jailbroken iPhone 2G.
I guess it's okay to start with a currently in use jailbroken iPhone 2G.
So how many free space is needed for the whole Android installation and basic running?

2. I understand the current iDroid is in a very early beta,
There should be a lot of update versions soon.
At the moment, if there is a newer version,
is it true the only way to update, is to reinstall the whole system?

Thank you!
