I've been reading about on here for a while now, and decided to make a account on the forum. Anyways,

I've been trying for like a while now to get AT&T working. I've tried the APN several times on iDroid 0.2 and ddFroyo v5 and it never worked.

Is there anyone that actually has this working? Please let me know if I need to use a different kernel or something. I really want to get this extremely unstable android OS working atleast so I can do calls and text,

As far as I know, I haven't heard lots of reports that EDGE was working, otherwise it would be on the wiki.

But calling and texting work pretty fine.

It apparently accepts the APN, it shows it's there and I activated it and made this bubble next to it green, but when I try to search for a network it says
" error while searching for networks"

I don't have a 3G phone so I can't use 3G on it, edge is the only way.

I'll take a quick guess and say texting and calling won't work without my Edge connection right?

and would things work better with iDroid 0.2 or ddfroyo v5?

I don't use EDGE. But my calling and texting work.

Calling and texting are independent of EDGE.

Alright, I got that installed, I saw that while browsing the wiki, anyways if I don't need edge to use the mms or anything, why am i having such a difficult time even getting things working? it just tells me I have no service so nothing is working.

Service works for me... have you tried unlocking the phone with redsn0w? I know it's not needed since you are on the official carrier.

Yeah. I even tried Bootneuter and it didn't work. x_x

EDIT: well no i didn't unlock with Redsn0w.

But how do I get into recovery mode now? Openiboot won't let me.

EDIT2: I unlocked it and had to reinstall OpeniBoot.

Got into android and 3 seconds later it found AT&T.

Success. All done in windows. No linux usage. used NAiDroid 2G.

Only thing that's a issue with OpeniBoot is I had to download a different version of OpeniBoot and replace the one that was there. Then do the same thing and let it download the version the program downloads, it then installs correctly so next time I reboot my phone, it starts back in OpeniBoot.
