by syler » Wed Jul 28, 2021 5:07 pm

Ok i used iphodroid r11 beta for my 2G 3.1.2 jailbroken iPhone.
Terminal work, scroll mode work.. but my 2G stop at the message: "Welcome to Openiboot"! And than? What I have to do or what I did wrong?
After a reboot it starts with iOS.

Same exact thing happend to me. On both R11 and R9. I then tried NAidroid2g installer and that got openiboot working on my phone. Like an idiot I uninstalled it (long story) and now I can't get it back from either Iphodroid or NAidroid2g

Use manual install for iBoot (use our wiki for instructions) as obviously automatic installer fall on iboot part and mess up it.

do you mean this?
Installing openiboot on your device

All commands below are to be run from your Mac, from within the iDroid utils directory.
Copy loadibec and oibc from osx-usb-tools.tar.gz to your utils directory (overwriting the linux versions)
Put your phone into Recovery Mode.
Run:
sudo ./loadibec openiboot.img3
The openiboot menu should now be displayed on your phone.
Press the button on the top of your phone to select the openiboot console, then press the home button.
Run:
sudo ./oibc
Your terminal should now show the same text that's displayed on your phone's screen. If not return to point 1.
Type
install
Once done, type
reboot
Note: If your device refuses to start up after installing openiboot, you need to enter Recovery Mode mode and Restore your device using iTunes. The best alternative is to use redsn0w 0.9.2, this will keep your settings and data intact.

Yes
EDIT: except that 'NOTE' part as You don't need to restore phone, just repeat iBoot install until phone accept install.

I may need a little help with getting this to work. Those instructions are pretty intimidating...

All you need is a Linux machine and some basic knowledge of linux.

The instructions are made in a way that you should follow it exactly and everything will be fine.

I only have a Windows and Mac to work with. I don't have linex. (Unless you are talking about Command prompt or terminal??). Even with the instructions above, its still a little complicated for me. Is it possible to find an extremely simplified and detailed tutorial of how to do this and what files I need?? Also where I can find those files?? Alot of these terms are new to me and confusing..

You can install it on a Mac. The Wiki has an Installation Guide for Mac. This is not complicated because everything is explained properly.

If you did all the steps but are still stuck on the Welcome Message, then I suggest a restore to make sure everything is back to normal (back up files and settings in iTunes first).

Off topic, this is why I want the source code for Iphodroid, I have no real idea why you guys get to that screen if iphodroid should work properly.
