0xffffff92 or the "nothing happens" bug

On the newer version of loadibec nothing happens, on older ones you're getting the following message : Upload failed: 0xffffff92 error

This bug occurs on iPod/iPhone(3G) and prevent OpeniBoot from booting on the device. It don't seems to be firmware dependent. The reasons are unknown.

It can be reproduced on : Ubuntu 8.x to 10.x native or in a VM (OSX or Windows hosts) OSX compiled binaries

Workaround

Still no workaround, try another computer.

Potential workaround:

After receiving this error on a VirtualBox Debian Lenny setup (or rather, receiving no output at all), manually compiling the libusb-1.0 libraries from SourceForge, installing them over the top of the libusb-1.0-0 package and renaming /usr/local/lib/libusb-1.0.so.0.0.0 to /usr/local/lib/libusb-1.0.so.0 solved the problem and allowed loadibec to work correctly.

Alternatively, using a 64-bit vm and the tools from here also works.
