Udev Rules

Installing the udev Rules

  1. Save the clipping below as a file named /etc/udev/rules.d/51-android.rules on your filesystem.
  2. You may need to restart udevd or linux to get the udev rules to apply properly.
  3. You may now use oibc, loadibec and adb without the need for root. (This is particularly useful for ADB, as it is daemon-based, and leaving it running as a super-user could result in system vulnerability.)
